Implications and Frequently Asked Questions

  • How to heat the container? Why Smart (Smarty) Container?

The container must be brought to desired temperature by degrees. They must be heated and cooled down without being exposed to thermal shocks. The container must wait at middle heats (at 150-200°C) without reaching ambient temperature during shift changes and long-term stops. For example,1. Step it must wait at 50oC for 15 minutes,2. Step it must wait at 100oC for 30 minutes,3. Step it must wait at 200oC for 30 minutes,The last step must be the desired temperature.Carrying out the mentioned processes with smarty container will be much more easy and controlled. You will decrease the error rate into minimum by using smarty container and eliminating human factor.
  • Is it possible to use the Dummy Block until it gets damaged? Does it need any maintenance?

Dummy Block must be maintained-controlled periodically before it gets damaged. Running clearance, ring diameter and hardness must be periodically controlled. Thus, the Dummy Block can be used more long-lasting and the possible damage can be prevented.
  • When and Why I Must Use the Clean Out Block?

Clean-out blocks are advised to be used at least once a day on the purpose of cleaning the oxide layer that forms on liner wall from billet and residues due to high tonnage or alloy transformations.
  • Why and When I must clean the head of container?

This is a periodical maintenance that must be carried out in order to eliminate the damages forming due to various reasons and to prevent the damage to grow in the part of container that touches to the die. Damages that form on the head (dimension deformations, parallelism defects, gaps) cause the raw material to make cap and thus, production loss. This help to lengthen the life-span of liner.
  • Why and When I must clean the inner diameter of liner?

This is the maintenance which must periodically carried out in order to eliminate the damages (bloating-taper-corrosion) forming on the inner diameter of the liner during press and to prevent the damages to grow. This help to lengthen the life-span of liner.
  • One or More of the Resistances are Damaged, Can I Continue Production?

The heating system continues to work when one or more of the resistances are damaged. To continue working with damaged resistance is not recommended since it may result in unwanted issues such as length difference at profiles and sectional heat difference at billet. Damaged resistance must be determined and changed as soon as possible.
  • I am Using Cable Outlet Cartridge-type Resistances, Can I Convert Them into Weld-assembled?

Weld-assembled resistances can be assembled instead of cable outlet cartridge type resistances. Their replacement with the same diameter or ideal diameter resistances is possible.
  • Why Detachable (bolted) Cartridge Resistances?

There is no need of specialty for the maintenance and repair of bolt assembled resistances. Welding is hard and needs specialty in terms of heating system. Welded connections bring foreign-dependency in cases of maintenance. Heating systems that have bolted connections provide clean, fast and easy application during processes of maintenance and malfunction.
  • What Must I Pay Attention While Using Containers with Cartridge Resistance?

Cartridge resistances must be avoided from contact with liquid. Resistances that contact with mordacious become useless. Container opening and closing movements must be performed as smooth transitions. Keeping the energy resources of resistances at permanent and low volts helps to prolongs the life-span of resistance. The production heat mustn’t be reached in one step.
  • How Can I Prolong the Life-span of Resistances?

It is made; by controlling the resistance temperature by using two point controlled thermocouples, by not exposing the resistance, which is under heat and energy, to shake,by supplying permanent energy transition at low volts instead of sudden energy transition at high volts, The container must wait at middle heats (at 150-200°C) without reaching ambienttemperature during shift changes and long-term stops.Or The resistance and the container that are at ambient temperature must be heated gradually as indicated below. For example,1. Step it must wait at 50oC for 15 minutes,2. Step it must wait at 100oC for 30 minutes,3. Step it must wait at 200oC for 30 minutes,The last step must be the desired temperature.
