Extrusion

There are three fundamental concepts in question.

These are;

1- Raw material
2- Extrusion press
3- Die

For a good quality and efficient extrusion, the efficiency of the press is important after the selection of the raw material in optimum quality, A productive press is the combination of rigid mechanical parts, smart electronic software and faultless hydraulic system. Rigid mechanical parts are; Heating system of high quality and controllable under favourable conditions, Container and liner that are produced from high quality steel that went through favourable heat treating process, Container housing that can be easily centred, Stem that went through favourable heat treating process and made from steel that has high-toughness, Dummy block that can be centred and easy to maintain, Rigid cassette slide system, Die Ring-Bolster set that is produced from high quality steel that went through favourable heat treating process, Tie Rod and nuts that are produced from a material that went through favourable heat treating process and has a high fatigue strength, Front-rear platines that are rigid, has high fatigue strength and don’t have mechanical processing error. The hydraulic system that works in maximum efficiency and error-free is one of another detail that completes the whole.
Details that constitute the whole for an efficient and high quality press are very important. The incomes of the details at the press section of extrusion production are not short-term incomes, but rather long-term incomes. Although they seem to have high costs in short-term since they are among large items in operational expenses, invest derives profit in long-term production since it will be more efficient when compared to poor-quality and cheap products. Another factor that constitutes the whole of press is the heating system. The heating method - technique of the container in which the aluminium go to press gains importance in with regard to;

1- Operational costs
2- Container-Liner life (steel
and heat treating)
3- Profile quality

There are different types of heating systems but it is important how you heat the container and liner. (See Heating systems) Energy costs and tool life that are very important in operational costs make this more important. Green manufacturing that gains importance day by day in world technology and production draws attention to the economical usage of operational energy resources. Considering that the wasted electric energy is not recyclable and the consumed energy damages the earth, the issue of heating becomes more important. Since the unnecessary expenses on heating
system negatively influences the steel life as well, because the generated damage contributes to the consumed energy during the production of steel, heat treating and mechanical working, it negatively influences the energy resources of both the country and the world. When we consider the energy that is used in your firm as a ring of the chain, it is obvious to see the direct influence of this issue on the environment. Therefore, the container heating system must be economic, optimum efficient and not negatively affecting the mechanical parts (tool life).
